Egypt
Firing 1998 Champions
coach Gohary might not have been the best idea. Although Egypt did leave
a solid impression, the tools the team was using to take apart the opponents
did not seem as sharp as two years before when a masterly prepared squad
won the African Nations Cup.
In the end Egypt lost through
a penalty in a tough tactical match against North African counterparts
Tunisia, always a special match.
So that it can as well be
considered a rather academic question whether they had done better if Gohary
had continued his work. |
